I will have to keep these titles in mind for next year. Sometimes it is a challenge to find a picture book to read aloud that makes sense without seeing the pictures and also has a good message. <br /><br />I like O. Henry's The Gift of the Magi but I don't remember what version I read. The quotes you shared were not familiar to me and I think the writing is awkward, especially that line from Della.
