Probably due for a reread soon!

Love what you said here: "It is about the ideas, emotions, concepts behind the books." Last year, our book club at the Vinnegut Memorial Library here in Indianapolis read it for banned books week, and were fortunate to have one of Bradbury's biographers with us. I posted about that visit on my blog here if you'd like to take a look (I was fascinated that there was an asbestos-cover edition - wow!)
http://bibliophilica.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/banned-books-week-fahrenheit-451-by-ray-bradbury/

-JayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33553028.post-51106885961131691372013-09-14T13:27:06.610-05:002013-09-14T13:27:06.610-05:00I was disappointed in the movie mainly because the...I was disappointed in the movie mainly because they eliminated the character of Faber, and over-emphasized Clarisse (not that I hated her, but, still. In the book she does have an unfortunate somewhat mysterious end). I also like the fact that in the book, Montag "became" a book of the Bible (Ecclesiastes). I understand why that might have been a turn-off (even in the 60s) for viewers, it lost something for me. The novel ends with two great allusions to the Bible (Ecclesiastes and Revelation)...it just doesn't get better than the book...for me!Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00793618692608823102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33553028.post-11752441861069429412013-09-14T12:30:13.504-05:002013-09-14T12:30:13.504-05:00Love, love, love this book! I did not like the movie, but they got that last scene right.hopeinbrazilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05842290165385823751noreply@blogger.com
