I do the memory thing and there are so many songs that bring to mind books too.Alix https://www.blogger.com/profile/04684209302932310537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33553028.post-78928755324936048782008-04-16T18:33:00.000-05:002008-04-16T18:33:00.000-05:00I definitely do that connection thing, too. And The Lord of the Rings on a hot summer day while drying out after a nice cool swim. And all manner of Stephen King novels that I couldn't put down while on vacation - and reading sometimes late, late into summer nights (which, surprisingly, never gave me nightmares). Funny how that happens, isn't it?Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07751131767729086158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33553028.post-90305494755641378972008-04-16T14:57:00.000-05:002008-04-16T14:57:00.000-05:00I have that same connection with time and place an...I have that same connection with time and place and memory thing. If I think of any book that made even a small impact on me, I can picture where I was reading, what else was going on in my life, what I ate while reading, everything.

What you and a commenter on my blog said about reading aloud made me wonder about something. I have ZERO memories of being read to as a child, but I was a big-time reading aloud mom myself. My son was born 2 months premature, and the first thing I did, since the doctor suggested taping my voice to have in his incubator with him, was read Dr Seuss books into that recorder. So he spent his first month with my voice reading Dr Seuss 24 hours a day! No wonder that kid loves books. :)Deweyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00395712971920800717noreply@blogger.com
