East of Eden is my favourite Steinbeck and The Forsyth Saga is wonderful....but very long. The TV series with Rupert Graves is worth seeking out too.
ReplyDeleteI love what books of Gaskell's I have read, but I had not heard of that one. I had mixed emotions about Peace Like a River but I did think Enger was a great storyteller. I have a George Eliot book on my list, too. Have fun with your list this year!
