I like option b. It doesn't look as busy.

My mom and I are leaning towards option B. But I *am* curious in opinions.

I've enjoyed your "A" option for a while, but I think option "B" is a nice clean look. I vote "B".

I have to agree with option B. Option A is very nice, but I think B is cleaner looking.

I've always loved the "reading ladies," but the cross-stitch header is very striking. And change is good, right?

I would have to say B. I am not very Victorian though :-)

I am a big big fan of your reading ladies... The other is a very close second.

Becky, I love your blog design improvements! I prefer A. It is more striking and suits your overall style.

I think option B is a little bit cleaner looking than option A. I think I'd like option A better if the color of the font were different and stuck out a little more -- the red gets lost in some of the photos, you know?

Thanks for the opinions, keep them coming :)

Kim, I've tried about a dozen or so different colors for the font trying to find one where it stood out enough from the pictures. Trying to make it readable where it didn't blend in with the pictures. I've tried blue--light, medium, dark; I've tried green; I've tried a light red and a dark red. I think I've tried black. I think I've tried lighter colors like beige and off-white. And I've not found a color that would work against all three pictures. So 'tis been a challenge.

Before it was red, it was navy. But navy hasn't matched my blog in a long time--I guess about nine or ten months now since I switched color schemes.

I Love option B--and the updated font looks really good. I liked the reading ladies but I think your new option is easier to read (and super cute).

I love your new background, too, btw. The new header would work very well with it :-)

I also like option as well, nice new layout!

My favorite is option B... but I do enjoy your current header too!

Sorry, I love your reading ladies and the background you have now reflects the tone and style in the paintings perfectly. I never get tired of those pictures.

I like the reading ladies best. It looks great with the new background and adds a more classic touch to your blog. But Option B would be fresh and uncluttered. I could definitely get used to it.

By the way, I don't comment often, but I wanted to let you know that I have absolutely no affiliation with the Page Turner Reviews that stole your content. That is despicable. You can check http://linesfromthepage.blogspot.com/ - my content is all original, for better or worse. The only thing I get from your blogs are additions to my TBR list!

Thanks for the opinions everyone! I am still undecided. And I'll probably sleep on it a few days. Part of me loves the reading ladies--but part of me is unsatisfied with it, at least in its present state. It's just hard to make the font readable on it. And sometimes I look at it and think it's too busy...and other times I look at it and smile. So I may see if I can play around with the color of the font or the font of the font :) I've been told not to have it in italics :) Or I could just go with Option B.

Page Turner, thanks for clarifying. When I saw "Page Turner" in my email, I braced myself for a moment. But it's not your fault there's a site called Page Turner. And the theft is still ongoing. It's so frustrating!

Both of your other options are pretty and I like them - but I love your reading ladies! :) L.

hello, looking for book review blog and stumble upon this blog. Anyway, I vote for option "b" which is less busy

Thanks everyone! I have gone with a compromise. Something that I hope those who love the reading ladies will appreciate. I've switched headers, yes. But the reading ladies can all be found on my sidebar on the right. Each one is now a banner linked to something on the site--interviews, challenges, etc. This way they're not really gone. They've just moved.

How nice, I still get to see the reading ladies. And I got the background I wanted. A lovely compromise. Your new look is great, well done. And I still want to steal your ladies every time I see them.:)
