Library Loot: Fourth Trip in March
Though there are still a few days to vote in my poll (on library habits), I'm a bit surprised at the results! It seems most people (at least the people who've taken the poll) think that one to three books is the 'just right' amount of books to check out at a time!
I did stick with that this week--by the way--I chose three books to come home with me this week.
New Loot:
Cassidy by Lori Wick
Sabrina by Lori Wick
Girl Stays In the Picture by Melissa de la Cruz
Leftover Loot:
Faerie Wars by Herbie Brennan*
The Purple Emperor by Herbie Brennan
Ruler of the Realm by Herbie Brennan
Faerie Lord by Herbie Brennan
All Unquiet Things by Anna Jarzab
The Line by Teri Hall
The Lost Conspiracy by Frances Hardinge**
You Are So Undead To Me by Stacey Jay
Where I'd Like To Be by Frances O'Roark Dowell
Dovey Coe by Frances O'Roark Dowell
Chicken Boy by Frances O'Roark Dowell
*Question. Have any of you read this series? Is it worth my time? I thought it would fit with Carl's Once Upon A Time challenge. But it's not like I don't have fifty books that would fit. Is it good? Should I read it?!
**I picked this one up because of School Library Journal's Battle of the Kids' Books. This one has won two matches so far. (Lips Touch Three Times vs. The Lost Conspiracy. The Last Olympian vs. The Lost Conspiracy) The judges were Helen Frost and Angela Johnson. I'm about halfway through and I must admit I am enjoying it!
Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

The poll - I see no "There is no 'just right' amount" or "As many as possible" or "The sky's the limit" options... I suppose I tend to borrow 1-3, and at most 5-6 at one visit; but I've always got 25-30 books at home in total. So... L.
I think I usually take out 7 or 8 at a time, but I decided to be sensible in my answer and go for 4-7. I have 10 books out altogether, at the moment - more than that and the fines would be serious!#
I was really pleased to see from your list that there is a third book by Frances Hardinge - I love her first, and have her second on the TBR pile. For authors this good I like to have one to look forward to, so now I can go ahead and read the second book! Not so good for my book budget, though, which is spent up for the next 3 months!
I haven't read Faerie Wars either, but would really like to know if it is worth it!
Library poll. I check out way too much library stuff and I am trying to cut back. I probably have about 40 books out - though some are for my kids.
I didn't respond to your poll because I think it depends on your library's loan period - if you only get two weeks, I'd obviously suggest checking out less than if you got four weeks. Personally, I'm at the library at least once a week with 5-10 books coming home with me. Which means I have anywhere from 15-40 checked out at once. I'd be optimistic to say that I actually read half of what I borrow!
And I'm also interested to know if anyone has read the Faerie Wars series - this one's been on my to-read list for quite awhile, but there's always something more timely that pushes it back.
I haven't read the series but it does sound interesting. As for the poll, while I'm happy checking out four to seven items at a time, I usually have many more at home. We're allowed to have thirty items at a time and on occasion I wish for more. Enjoy your loot!
I usually get 1-3 books at a time, but I'm also there EVERY DAY so it adds up. I'm trying to limit myself to 5 library books at a time, but it's so hard.
the faerie wars books are absolutely amazing. definitely worth your time
