Nonfiction Monday: What's the Weather?

What's the Weather? With fun flaps to lift and wheels to turn!
Published by Scholastic in 2008
Illustrated by Jo Moon

This weather book is for the young. (Preschool through 1rst grade I'd imagine) The book is simple and straightforward. It asks the question "What's the weather like today?" the following pages will tell about a particular type of weather--cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy, sunny, windy, etc. It's interactive in that children (or adults) can lift flaps, spin wheels, etc.) For the age group, I think it is appropriate. It doesn't give all there is to know about a subject by any means, but it does explain the basics in a way that is easy to understand and grade-appropriate.

Roundup is here.

This looks like a cute one! I'm always on the lookout for simple books for storytime and flaps are a huge bonus! :)

Asking a favor...

I've switched backgrounds from dark to light. I know that there may be some posts with text in colors that won't show up. I just don't know which posts have text elements in specific colors. If you encounter a page with text such as this. Could you leave me a comment on that post and tell me it needs fixing? I'd be super-appreciative!
Thank you!
