Just in case anyone is thinking: Wow, she really controlled herself at the library. She only checked out eight books. You should probably know that New York is 862 pages. And A Rose for the Crown is 672 pages. And I've still got Armadale, 880 pages, and Villette, 704 pages.

I read and reviewed New York awhile back. I loved it-- it's the sort of novel that educates the reader about history rather better than school history books.
