May Firsts

Here are just a few of the 'first' lines that caught my attention this past month:

I knew it would begin with the end, and the end would look like death to these eyes.

The last thing I wanted to do on my summer break was blow up another school.

You wouldn't think we'd have to leave Chicago to see a dead body.

When he woke in the woods in the dark and the cold of night he'd reach out to touch the child sleeping beside him.

Phoebe and her friends held their breath as the dead girl in the plaid skirt walked past their table in the lunchroom.

I can tell you from experience that a jail cell is not a place you'd like to visit.
