So I paid $$ for a hc copy for nothing?! Just kidding--Neil Gaiman is wonderful. "Good Omens," his collaboration with Terry Pratchett, was my absolute favorite. For me, "American Gods" falls just behind that and "Anansi Boys." The humor was much darker in "American Gods," and there are a few scenes borderline racy for high school students (I'm a hs librarian)--but I loved his use of mythological figures from such a variety of cultures. Especially from my own (Slavic/Russian/Polish) culture.
